Ondo state Speaker, Deputy impeached over gross misconduct

The Ondo state Speaker, Bamidele Oloyelogun and Deputy Speaker, Iroju Ogundeji of the house of assembly have been impeached. Both were impeached over gross misconduct.

Olamide George from Akure North local government is the new speaker while Abimbola Fajolu is the new deputy speaker.

Recall that the deputy speaker lroju Ogundeji was impeached and subsequently reinstated early this year

Not long after

, members of the Ondo State Assembly then elected Olamide George from Akure North state constituency and Abimbola Fajolu from Ile Oluji/ Okeigbo state constituency, as their new Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.

They were elected by eighteen members present at the house after the former speaker, Bamidele Oleyeloogun and his Deputy, Iroju Ogundeji was impeached.

The new speaker pledged his loyalty to the state Governor and the APC.
